Job Summary:
The R&D Lab Manager will lead operations within the Assay R&D laboratories, ensuring compliance, equipment functionality, and smooth collaboration with cross-functional departments such as EHS&S, Calibration, and Facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive continuous improvement and reduce manual work via process development.
Recommend and coordinate installation of lab equipment and ensure all lab utility/safety needs are met.
Inspect laboratories for compliance with biohazard handling and disposal regulations.
Serve as the primary contact during regulatory lab audits.
Enforce safety and compliance policies.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
BS degree with 12+ years of experience and 7+ years in lab management
OR MS degree with 8+ years experience and 5+ years in lab management
Must be in molecular diagnostics or a similar institution.
Proficiency in Molecular Biology techniques, preferably real-time PCR.
Minimum 2 years of experience managing direct reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Cross-functional coordination with EHS, IT, janitorial, and other departments.
Troubleshooting lab technical issues (e.g., computers, GeneXpert instruments).
Ability to manage ambiguity and create structured processes.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range: $144,000–$180,000 (subject to modification)
Eligible for bonus/incentive pay
