    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Senior Manager - External Supply QA (ES QA) will be responsible for overseeing the strategic development and operational management of the ES QA India team. This position requires leadership in quality assurance processes, managing suppliers/contract manufacturers, and fostering talent development within the team. The role also entails membership in the ES QA Global and NNQ-GBS management teams and will play a crucial part in expanding and optimizing the quality assurance processes within Novo Nordisk.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Strategic Development and Operational Management

    • Provide strategic development and operational responsibility for the ES QA team in India.
    • Ensure that quality activities within ES QA India are aligned with global quality standards and company goals.
    • Lead the ES QA India team, with a focus on developing the leadership capabilities of team members (i.e., leader of leaders).
    • Manage resources and control the budget for the team, ensuring spend is aligned with overall company goals.
    • Ensure occupational health and safety measures are implemented and maintained for the team.

    Team and Talent Management

    • Focus on talent development and foster a culture of growth within the team.
    • Build and manage a highly effective, expanding team in ES QA India to meet evolving organizational needs.
    • Actively contribute to the leadership development of the team, ensuring team members are well-equipped to manage complex quality assurance tasks.

    Supplier and Contract Manufacturer Management

    • Manage multiple suppliers and contract manufacturers for quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with Novo Nordisk’s global quality standards.
    • Collaborate with suppliers and external partners in the negotiation, decision-making, and operational aspects of the supply chain.
    • Ensure adherence to GxP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and other relevant regulations in supplier management.

    Cross-functional and Global Interaction

    • Work closely with both local and global managers in a matrix setup, ensuring seamless communication and alignment across regions.
    • Influence diverse international stakeholders, providing strategic advice on quality assurance-related issues.
    • Lead the development and presentation of impactful communications to various organizational levels.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education:
      • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
    • Experience:
      • 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, including 5+ years in leadership or people management roles.
      • Proven experience in building and managing teams to support global processes is mandatory.
      • Experience managing suppliers/contract manufacturers is desirable, with strong skills in negotiation, collaboration, and decision-making.
      • Previous exposure to matrix management setups and cross-functional interactions with global teams will be advantageous.
      • Background in quality processes in pharmaceutical manufacturing and familiarity with QMS processes, drug development life cycle, sourcing, and GxP regulations is highly relevant.
    • Skills:
      • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to handle complex issues and influence stakeholders effectively.
      • Fluency in English (both verbal and written), with a proven ability to present information clearly to various organizational levels.
      • Strong background in project management and organizational change.

    ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

    The External Supply QA (ES QA) India team is part of Novo Nordisk Quality GBS (NNQ GBS) and focuses on ensuring the quality assurance of external supply. This includes managing relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers worldwide. The ES QA team is poised for growth, and the Senior Manager ES QA will play a key role in expanding and leading the team to meet the global organization's quality assurance needs.
