Position Overview:

Abbott is seeking an EHR Connectivity Operations Application Analyst to join their Medical Devices Digital Solutions team in Minneapolis, MN. This role is vital in supporting the integration between Abbott’s medical device platforms and customer EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems. The individual in this role will work closely with cross-functional teams at Abbott, as well as customer IT and clinical teams, to implement and maintain software applications, ensure smooth data flow, and optimize user experience. The analyst will also be responsible for configuring software, conducting tests, providing training, and ensuring application performance and security.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration & Integration:

    • Work with internal technical and commercial teams at Abbott, along with customer IT and clinical teams, to design, implement, and support integrations between Abbott’s medical device platforms and customer EHR systems.
  • Application Configuration & Customization:

    • Configure and modify software applications based on design specifications.
    • Customize off-the-shelf software to meet specific business needs and user requirements.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting:

    • Plan and conduct thorough testing to ensure the functionality, performance, and security of applications.
    • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs or issues that arise during implementation or after deployment.
  • Deployment & Support:

    • Oversee the deployment of applications and software updates.
    • Provide production support, including troubleshooting and optimizing user experience.
  • Documentation:

    • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and system changes.
    • Ensure that applications comply with security policies and safeguard sensitive data.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
    • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance application performance and efficiency.
  • Customer Satisfaction:

    • Ensure high customer satisfaction by executing timely and high-quality customer engagements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Information Management, or related field.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a health system or health technology company.
    • Experience with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, Allscripts, etc.
    • Strong understanding of clinical libraries like SNOMED, LOINC, ICD, RxNorm, etc.
    • Knowledge of healthcare integration standards (HL7 v2, FHIR).
  • Skills:

    • Proficient in application testing methodologies and tools.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and adapt to new technologies.
    • Problem-solving ability for complex issues and ability to communicate clearly with both internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications:

    • EHR Application Certifications (e.g., EpicCare Ambulatory, Epic Prelude).
    • HL7 Certification (v2, CCDA, or FHIR).
  • Additional Knowledge:

    • Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) processes.
    • Understanding of server configurations, networking, and cloud computing.

Compensation:

  • Base Pay Range: $72,700 – $145,300 annually (varies by location).
