Job Description:

The Consultant / Senior Consultant in the Japan Value, Evidence and Outcomes (Japan VEO) team will deliver valuable evidence to address health outcomes issues, maximize product value, and contribute to improving people’s health by leading evidence strategy development, planning, and Real World Evidence (RWE) study development. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and local/global partners to ensure evidence generation, research communication, and health economics strategy execution.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development:

    • Develop and oversee local HEOR/RWE strategies for compounds in the Lilly portfolio in Japan.

    • Drive integration of HEOR/RWE from early clinical development to commercialization.

    • Formulate Patient Focused Outcome, RWE, and economic value strategies.

  • Study Development and Execution:

    • Lead HEOR/RWE evidence planning and execution across the lifecycle.

    • Develop and design HEOR/RWE studies to address gaps, ensuring scientific robustness.

    • Apply technical expertise in statistical analysis, economic modeling, and observational research.

  • Organizational Leadership and Influence:

    • Demonstrate leadership in evidence strategy and study execution.

    • Integrate with and influence internal and external stakeholders.

    • Innovate and take risks to deliver best results.

  • Information Dissemination:

    • Communicate HO information to business partners and scientific communities.

    • Lead research dissemination strategies (e.g., abstracts, publications, presentations).

    • Share learnings and drive application of research results.

  • Environmental Awareness:

    • Maintain awareness of relevant disease states, methodologies, regulations, and trends.

    • Evaluate future market needs for HO information in specific therapeutic areas.

  • Project Management:

    • Collaborate with Project Managers to meet project timelines, budget, and scope.

    • Coordinate research efforts with cross-functional teams and external collaborators.


Required Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Advanced degree (Ph.D., M.D., PharmD, or Master’s) in relevant disciplines (e.g., economics, epidemiology, statistics, health economics).

  • Experience:

    • Experience in health economics, health outcomes, disease management, and/or population health.

    • Strong proficiency in both English and Japanese.

    • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.

  • Skills:

    • Technical expertise in economic modeling, burden of disease, epidemiology, and statistics.

    • Strong comprehension and communication skills to disseminate complex scientific information.
