Position Overview:

Abbott is building a slate of candidates for a future opening of the Clinical Specialist I, CPT position in San Antonio, TX. This role will be part of the Neuromodulation team, which focuses on implantable devices that help individuals with chronic pain and movement disorders. The Clinical Specialist will provide clinical expertise, technical support, and assist in driving sales efforts by building strong relationships with physicians, support staff, and customers.


What You’ll Work On:

  • Clinical & Technical Support:

    • Provide technical and clinical assistance, primarily supporting 1-2 Territory Managers.
    • Offer after-hours call support and other clinical case management activities.
    • Deliver complex programming and case support in line with customer needs.
  • Customer Engagement & Education:

    • Build trust and rapport with healthcare professionals and staff, enhancing their comfort and expertise with Abbott’s Chronic Pain Therapies.
    • Conduct in-services, training sessions, and educational programs to ensure proper understanding and usage of products.
  • Sales & Market Intelligence:

    • Develop and execute sales strategies for capital equipment opportunities.
    • Monitor competitor activities, product developments, and pricing to inform sales strategies.
    • Maintain detailed knowledge of assigned accounts and customer needs.
  • Product Knowledge & Feedback:

    • Provide feedback on the directions for use of Abbott’s implantable devices, both in and out of the operating room.
    • Attend trade shows and conferences to stay updated on new technologies and network with other sales representatives and clients.
  • Compliance & Communication:

    • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, company policies, and operating procedures.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and customers effectively, maintaining positive relationships at all levels.
  • Travel:

    • Ability to travel approximately 25% within the assigned region and/or outside the region.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Associate’s Degree or technical certification; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience:

    • 1-2 years of work experience in a clinical setting (e.g., physical therapy, medical product sales, RN, LPN).
    • Strong communication skills to educate and understand clinical data related to Chronic Pain Therapies.
  • Skills:

    • Strong clinical expertise and ability to explain complex clinical information.
    • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effectively engaging with internal and external customers.
    • Ability to manage unpredictable schedules due to operating room changes.
    • Capable of working under tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Experience in the spinal cord stimulation (SCS) field or with another implantable medical device company.
    • Experience working in a cross-division business model is preferred.

Compensation:

  • Base Pay Range: $57,300.00 – $114,700.00 (may vary by location).
