Role Overview:

Abbott is looking for a Clinical Site Lead to oversee study execution and operational excellence across their cardiovascular therapies in the Southern California region. The Clinical Site Lead will be responsible for the implementation of clinical trials, managing clinical site performance, ensuring protocol adherence, and providing technical support for clinical staff and sites.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Territory Development:

    • Identify, develop, and maintain clinical sites that can meet study goals, including site qualification and performance.

    • Build and maintain relationships with site personnel (Principal Investigator, Research Coordinators, etc.).

    • Provide ongoing technical support to clinical sites and field staff.

  • Study Lifecycle Management:

    • Start-up: Facilitate site initiation and qualification, ensuring all regulatory and legal requirements are met.

    • Enrollment: Develop site-specific strategies to ensure proper patient enrollment and resolve issues that arise.

    • Regulatory and Quality: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and train site personnel on tools for compliance.

  • Clinical and Technical Expertise:

    • Provide training on clinical trials and relevant Abbott products.

    • Attend study procedures and ensure proper coverage for follow-ups and technical support.

  • Collaboration with Commercial Partners:

    • Collaborate with the local sales team to educate customers and ensure positive customer experiences.

  • Continuous Learning & Expertise:

    • Stay up-to-date on clinical, scientific, and competitive developments in relevant areas.

    • Maintain expertise in disease states and Abbott product lines.


Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a clinical or related role with a strong clinical orientation, particularly in interventional cardiology.

  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or medical training (RN, EMT, PA, etc.).

  • Experience: 2+ years in clinical trials, specifically in the cardiovascular field, with competence in catheterization lab and operating room protocols.

  • Skills: Highly developed interpersonal skills and attention to detail.


Salary Range:

  • Base Pay: $57,300.00 – $114,700.00 (may vary by location).
