As a Clinical Programmer II, you will utilize SAS and other tools to design, develop, and validate software in clinical programming for clinical trials. You will manage multiple projects, lead programming activities, ensure quality control, and collaborate with stakeholders to meet project requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Clinical Programming Development:

    • Use tools like Oracle RDC, Oracle Inform, Medidata, Rave, and SAS to write, validate, and maintain programming solutions.
    • Develop specifications, coding, and validation efforts for tasks such as CRFs, database creation, coding configuration, edit checks, and custom reports.
  2. Project Leadership:

    • Serve as the lead programmer for clinical programming projects, managing multiple studies concurrently.
    • Coordinate and lead project development activities, participating in meetings and ensuring milestones are met.
    • Collaborate with project teams and clients, offering insights and feedback, and escalating potential issues when necessary.
  3. Quality Assurance:

    • Review study deliverables to ensure accuracy and quality.
    • Participate in sponsor audits and assist in managing project scope and timelines.
  4. Mentorship and Training:

    • Provide training, guidance, and leadership to junior team members.
    • Share expertise to enhance team performance and project execution.
  5. Resource Management:

    • Monitor and manage project resources, alerting management to delivery needs and potential bottlenecks.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent related experience.

  • Experience:

    • 2.9 to 5 years of experience as a Clinical Programmer II or 5 to 7 years as a Senior Clinical Programmer.
    • Expertise in Advanced SAS programming, particularly in clinical data management (DM).
    • Strong hands-on experience with SAS macros and some knowledge of SQL.
    • Proficiency in clinical programming tasks such as developing SAS programs from scratch and working with annotated CRFs and other clinical trial data.
  • Skills:

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a matrix-structured environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with sponsors and internal teams.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with programming languages like PL/SQL, C#, or VB is preferred.
    • Ability to travel as necessary (up to 25%).
