Position Overview:
The Clinical Practice Performance Coordinator is responsible for managing the HEDIS and STARs data collection process. This includes reviewing medical records to evaluate quality, completeness, and compliance, identifying documentation gaps, and ensuring submissions meet HEDIS/STAR specifications.

You will support clinical documentation improvement, coordinate with internal teams, and maintain accurate logs and tracking systems. Your work will directly support efforts to elevate care quality and outcomes.

This is a full-time, in-office position based at:
4300 City Point Dr., Suite 201, North Richland Hills, TX 76180

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Occasional overtime as needed)

Training: 2–3 weeks of paid training provided | Training schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST, Monday to Friday


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review medical records to identify HEDIS and STARs opportunities

  • Support provider teams in closing care gaps through documentation reviews

  • Submit data and documentation per health plan and internal requirements

  • Analyze documentation trends and suggest process improvements

  • Monitor appointment availability, referrals, and billing consistency

  • Assist in chart retrieval and form completion

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HEDIS/STARs standards

  • Coordinate with IRR audits and data quality checks

  • Perform other assigned duties as required


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Medical Assistant Certification

  • BLS Certification

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant

  • At least 3 years of healthcare experience, preferably in a managed care setting

  • 3+ years of experience with data analysis or quality chart reviews

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, databases)

  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Ability to work the designated full-time schedule

  • Must meet vaccination and immunization documentation requirements

  • Capable of mentoring peers


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Registered Nurse (RN), or Certified Professional Coder

  • 1+ years of direct experience with HEDIS/STARs data

  • 2+ years of experience working with healthcare regulatory reporting

  • Experience in CPT/ICD-9/10 coding

  • Previous work experience in a physician or medical office environment

  • Working knowledge of EMRs and HEDIS reporting platforms


Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds

  • Occasionally required to push/pull up to 50 pounds

  • Extended periods of standing

  • Frequent use of fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination

  • Potential exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids

  • Must be able to operate a vehicle for company-related travel


Compensation:
The hourly range for this position is $19.86 – $38.85, depending on experience, education, and market factors. UnitedHealth Group also offers:
