Role Overview

As a Clinical Data Science Lead at ICON, you will oversee data science projects, lead a team of data professionals, and ensure the implementation of best practices in statistical analysis, data visualization, and predictive modeling. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize clinical trial data interpretation and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, execution, and oversight of data science strategies for clinical trial data analysis.

  • Collaborate with clinical, biostatistics, and operations teams to define data requirements and analytical priorities.

  • Develop, validate, and implement statistical models, algorithms, and analytical tools to extract actionable insights.

  • Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to team members in data analysis, visualization, and interpretation techniques.

  • Present findings and insights to stakeholders, supporting evidence-based decisions and influencing project strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and ICON standard operating procedures in all data analyses.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in data science workflows and methodologies.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Data Science, Life Sciences, or a related field.

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in data analysis within clinical research or pharmaceutical settings, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.

  • Proven expertise in statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, Python) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage teams and collaborate with global stakeholders.

  • In-depth understanding of clinical trial processes, regulatory requirements, and best practices in data governance.
