Role Overview
As a Clinical Data Science Lead at ICON, you will oversee data science projects, lead a team of data professionals, and ensure the implementation of best practices in statistical analysis, data visualization, and predictive modeling. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize clinical trial data interpretation and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, execution, and oversight of data science strategies for clinical trial data analysis.
Collaborate with clinical, biostatistics, and operations teams to define data requirements and analytical priorities.
Develop, validate, and implement statistical models, algorithms, and analytical tools to extract actionable insights.
Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to team members in data analysis, visualization, and interpretation techniques.
Present findings and insights to stakeholders, supporting evidence-based decisions and influencing project strategies.
Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and ICON standard operating procedures in all data analyses.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in data science workflows and methodologies.
Required Experience & Skills
Advanced degree in Statistics, Data Science, Life Sciences, or a related field.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in data analysis within clinical research or pharmaceutical settings, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
Proven expertise in statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, Python) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage teams and collaborate with global stakeholders.
In-depth understanding of clinical trial processes, regulatory requirements, and best practices in data governance.
