Job Overview

The Clinical Database Design Team Lead will oversee a team of professionals responsible for the delivery and construction of clinical databases across multiple studies and platforms. This role includes acting as a primary contact for clients within the clinical database design team, managing project financials, developing new scopes of work, and fostering relationships. The Team Lead will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the IT team regarding software application maintenance and adoption.

Essential Functions

  • Global SME Role: Act as a global expert in clinical database design and management.
  • Project Oversight: Support and perform Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), manage escalations, and address issues.
  • Financial Management: Conduct checks and reviews of project financials.
  • Resource Management: Define and prioritize resource needs, managing assignments across various projects.
  • Objective Implementation: Implement departmental objectives and peer review tasks at the portfolio level.
  • Deliverable Guidance: Provide expert review for Data Management deliverables including Case Report Forms (CRF/e-CRF), database design, validation definitions, programming, and Data Management Plans.
  • Technical Solutions: Offer technical advice to internal and external customers to enhance efficiency and resolve issues.
  • Process Development: Participate in developing and implementing new processes and technologies.
  • Staff Training: Ensure staff compliance with operating procedures, identifying training needs, and mentoring team members in Data Management programming processes.
  • Proposal Input: Contribute to proposals by providing design and programming insights.
  • Client Engagement: Attend client meetings to discuss project programming requirements and strategic planning.
  • Scope Management: Understand project scope, budget, identify out-of-scope work, and provide revised cost estimates with documentation.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure project milestones are achieved within agreed timelines while actively managing quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
  • Experience: 4-6 years of core technical design experience with a total of 9+ years in relevant fields.
