Position Overview

As a Clinical Data Science Programmer at ICON, you will develop, validate, and maintain programming solutions that support the analysis and reporting of clinical trial data. You’ll collaborate with statisticians, data scientists, and clinical teams to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of data throughout the study lifecycle.

This is an office-based role located in Bengaluru, Chennai, or Trivandrum, offering exposure to global studies and cutting-edge data science initiatives in clinical research.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate statistical programming code to support clinical trial data analysis and reporting.

  • Collaborate with data scientists and statisticians to define analytical requirements and implement efficient programming solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., CDISC, FDA, ICH).

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including programming code, processes, and output specifications.

  • Participate in the review of analysis datasets and final clinical reports to verify data accuracy and completeness.


Your Profile

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Life Sciences, or a related field.

Experience & Skills

  • Prior experience in clinical programming or within a clinical research environment preferred.

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages:

    • SAS, R, Python, or Rave (Custom Function).

  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data structures in clinical research.

  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional global teams.
