About the Role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is looking for a Clinical Data Management Programmer I to support clinical data management activities through database programming, validation, and data review processes.

In this role, you will work with clinical data management systems and programming tools to support project deliverables, including database development, edit checks, and data validation activities. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure high-quality clinical data management within project timelines and budgets.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Data Programming & Database Management

  • Design, build, and test clinical project databases.

  • Develop and validate:

    • Edit checks

    • Data listings

    • Data review outputs

  • Define and import data into clinical data management systems.

  • Support database development and validation activities.


Data Review & Quality Assurance

  • Create and test listings for clinical data review.

  • Ensure data quality and integrity through validation processes.

  • Resolve issues using available resources and technical knowledge.

  • Maintain confidentiality of clinical and proprietary client data.


Project Support & Collaboration

  • Perform assigned tasks within project timelines and departmental procedures.

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Support lead programmers with programming-related activities under supervision.

  • Adapt to changing priorities and manage deadlines effectively.


Learning & Process Improvement

  • Expand knowledge in:

    • Programming

    • Clinical data management systems

    • Technology tools

  • Follow departmental SOPs and working practice documents.

  • Contribute to informal training and knowledge-sharing activities.


Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.


Experience Requirements

  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in:

    • Clinical data management

    • Programming

    • Database systems

    • Related domains


Required Skills

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of:

    • Programming languages

    • Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)

  • Good computer proficiency.

  • Understanding of clinical data management systems is preferred.


Analytical & Professional Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

  • Good organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Capability to learn and apply:

    • Good Clinical Practices (GCP)
