Job Overview
The Cancer Care Officer will support national cancer prevention and control initiatives under the Noncommunicable Diseases (NCD) program. The role involves providing technical expertise for cancer screening programs, supporting research and surveillance activities, strengthening cancer care services, and assisting in the implementation of national health initiatives.
The selected candidate will work under the guidance of the Team Leader for Noncommunicable Diseases and contribute to program implementation, monitoring, and capacity-building initiatives related to cancer care and public health.
Key Responsibilities
Support the implementation of national cancer care initiatives, including comprehensive cancer control programs.
Provide technical input for strategies related to screening and early detection of oral, breast, and cervical cancers.
Assist in developing and updating cancer care management guidelines and standard operating procedures aligned with national and international standards.
Provide technical support for establishing day-care cancer chemotherapy centers.
Conduct field visits to states and districts to monitor program implementation and provide technical supervision.
Support cancer research initiatives to generate evidence for public health decision-making.
Collect, analyze, and monitor data from national health portals and surveillance systems to track cancer indicators.
Provide technical support for capacity building, monitoring, and surveillance activities related to cancer control programs.
Review program data to evaluate performance and compliance with cancer care standards.
Support childhood cancer initiatives and related public health programs.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and program documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
Collaborate with national health authorities and program stakeholders to support public health initiatives.
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support overall program objectives.
Educational Qualifications
Essential: University degree in Medical Sciences or related health discipline from a recognized institution.
Desirable: Postgraduate degree in Public Health or Public Health Administration.
Experience Required
Minimum 1 year of professional experience at the national level, including relevant experience in cancer care or public health programs.
Experience working with government agencies or social sector organizations is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
Monthly remuneration: INR 157,449 (taxable as per Indian regulations).
Contract may be extended based on performance, program requirements, and funding availability.
The role may require extensive travel to program locations (up to 15 days per month).
Eligibility
This position is open only to Indian nationals and will be filled through local recruitment in the duty station.
