Job Purpose

The Automation Associate will be a key member of the Compound Management Group, responsible for handling, preparing, and distributing small molecule compounds for research activities. The role includes sample weighing, liquid stock preparation, automation support, and inventory management. The candidate will also collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient compound handling and request fulfillment.


Key Responsibilities

Compound Management & Laboratory Operations

  • Prepare DMSO stock solutions and generate assay-ready plates for research studies.
  • Conduct sample weighing, liquid stock preparation, and inventory management.
  • Ensure proper documentation of compound handling processes and maintain data integrity.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders for the distribution and fulfillment of compound requests.
  • Assist in automation processes related to compound management and assay execution.
  • Support additional compound management tasks as assigned by the manager.

Data Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and complete records of compound preparation and distribution.
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and company quality standards in all activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and EHS safety guidelines.

Technical & Automation Support

  • Operate automation systems for running assays and processing compounds.
  • Assist in troubleshooting automation equipment and compound processing workflows.
  • Apply basic Excel knowledge for inventory tracking and data management.

Safety & Quality Assurance

  • Adhere to EHS protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in training programs on safety, data integrity, and quality assurance.
  • Follow waste management and hazardous material handling procedures.

Educational Qualification

  • M.Sc. or B.Tech in a relevant scientific discipline.

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Hands-on experience in routine laboratory operations in a research setting.
  • Basic understanding of automation systems for assay execution.
  • Strong knowledge of compound management techniques.
  • Proficiency in Excel for data tracking and inventory management.

Behavioral Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player.
  • Attention to quality, accuracy, and compliance in all tasks.
  • Effective time management to meet project deadlines.
