Role Overview
The Associate STEM Content Analyst – Polymer Indexing will work on analyzing and indexing polymer-related patent information for the Derwent World Patent Index (DWPI™). The role focuses on extracting scientific and technical polymer data from patents and enriching global intellectual property databases.
Key Responsibilities
Patent Analysis & Indexing
Analyze polymer patents to identify novel scientific information
Index and code polymer compounds, compositions, and structures using DWPI standards
Extract and curate:
Monomers
Catalysts
Additives
Polymer manufacturing processes
Physical operations and applications
Scientific Content Curation
Add value to patent records by applying editorial policies and coding standards
Ensure data accuracy and consistency in polymer patent indexing
Maintain awareness of trends and developments in polymer science and chemistry
Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively within the Polymer IP Indexing team
Contribute toward quality standards and production goals
Required Qualifications
M.Sc in:
Chemistry
Polymer Science
Organic Chemistry
Physical Chemistry
Analytical Chemistry
Inorganic Chemistry
OR
B.Tech / M.Tech in Polymer Technology
Required Skills
Strong understanding of polymer chemistry and scientific concepts
Good English communication skills
Ability to analyze and interpret complex scientific datasets
Basic computer proficiency:

Preferred Skills
Familiarity with chemical drawing tools such as:
