Associate STEM Content Analyst – Pharma Chemistry

Role Overview
The Associate STEM Content Analyst will work in the Pharma Chemistry team focusing on chemical patent analysis, indexing, and scientific content coding for global intellectual property databases used by pharma companies and research organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Patent & Chemical Data Analysis
Code and index chemical compounds from patent documents
Follow Derwent Innovation product standards and conventions
Analyze chemical structures and reactions from patent literature
Work with Markush structures and IUPAC nomenclature
Scientific Content Management
Perform pharma and chemistry-based content analysis
Conduct internet and patent literature research
Maintain accuracy in chemical compound representation
Tool-Based Work
Use chemical drawing tools such as:
ISIS Draw
Marvin JS
Quality & Knowledge Development
Stay updated with pharma and chemistry developments
Continuously upskill in chemistry, IP, and data analysis
Contribute to improving indexing quality and consistency
Required Qualifications
B.Pharm / M.Pharm / M.Sc Chemistry
Fresher or 1–2 years experience in pharma/chemistry content roles (non-R&D preferred)
Strong understanding of:
Chemical nomenclature (IUPAC)
Basic drug knowledge and human use
Preferred Skills
Patent analysis experience
Knowledge of Markush structures and complex chemical reactions
Exposure to pharmaceutical intellectual property
Basic content writing and analytical skills
Computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Elementary foreign language skills (German / French / Spanish) – advantage
Role Environment
Hybrid work model (Chennai office + remote flexibility)
Structured team of 20+ members across experience levels
Reporting to India/London content managers
Standard working hours: 9 AM – 6 PM IST
