Who You Are

The Computational Genetics team is seeking a full-time Associate Statistical Geneticist/Computational Biologist. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about extracting insights from diverse datasets, advancing internal projects, and shaping new opportunities. You’ll leverage computational geneticsstatistical inferencemachine learning, and simulation frameworks to inform critical decisions and contribute to impactful discoveries.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and interpret genetics studies using quantitative and binary traits from large-scale cohorts to drive program development.
  • Integrate genetic and EHR data to support target/biomarker discovery for clinical development.
  • Communicate findings clearly to internal teams (biologists, statisticians, physicians, business development experts) and present results to the broader scientific community.
  • Stay current with human genetics, advanced algorithms, methods, tools, and data resources.
  • Contribute to the development of computational tools and infrastructure for streamlined, reproducible analyses.

Core Qualifications

  • Education: PhD in Statistical GeneticsHuman GeneticsComputational Biology, or related field with 0-2 years of postdoctoral or industry experience.
  • Experience:
    • Extensive experience with QC, analysis, and interpretation of human genetics data (single variant and gene-based association analysis using WES/WGS/array genotyping).
    • Familiarity with EHR data (UK Biobank, All of Us, Genomics England), with hands-on experience strongly preferred.
    • Proficiency in Python or R and familiarity with Unix/Linux and cloud computing (AWS).
    • Proven ability to communicate technical analysis to experts and non-experts.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience with population stratificationMendelian randomizationpolygenic risk score (PRS) analysis, and gene-environment interaction analysis.
  • Experience in rare disease research and biomarker discovery.
  • Familiarity with multi-omics data (e.g., transcriptomic, proteomic, epigenomic) and imaging data (e.g., MRI, IHC).
  • Knowledge of relational databases (SQL, Postgres) and version control tools like git.

Salary Range

  • $135,000 - $200,000 USD (Final salary depends on experience, location, and interview performance).
