Associate Project Manager – Medical Affairs | Hyderabad, India

Sanofi is seeking an Associate Project Manager – Medical Affairs to join our Global Operations Hub in Hyderabad. This role will provide project management expertise for global medical affairs initiatives, including scientific events, congresses, advisory boards, symposiums, and internal meetings. You will work closely with Medical Directors (MDs) and global stakeholders to ensure smooth operational execution, timely deliverables, and high-quality project outcomes.


About the Role

The Associate Project Manager will:

  • Plan, initiate, execute, monitor, and close medical affairs projects within defined scope, timeline, and quality standards.

  • Develop and manage operational aspects of projects, including timelines, milestones, project metrics, and documentation.

  • Support MDs in preparing and completing core documents (e.g., GRF, ABP, PO, WBS forms) and ensure approvals are completed in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate with vendors, procurement, and internal stakeholders to track project progress, contracting, and payments.

  • Organize logistics, presentation materials, and support for scientific events, congresses, and advisory boards.

  • Maintain proactive project governance, identify risks, and provide guidance on processes, timelines, and corrective actions to avoid compliance issues.


Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Operations

  • Manage multiple medical affairs projects in parallel, ensuring completion on time and within scope.

  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and escalate issues when necessary.

  • Execute operational tasks such as document formatting, email communication, and system entries (Veeva, OneCRM, etc.).

  • Drive project governance meetings with stakeholders, vendors, logistics, and digital teams.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Build and maintain relationships with MDs, global stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams.

  • Align with team members to ensure smooth transitions between project phases and adherence to SOPs.

  • Support process improvements and value-added initiatives.

Event Management

  • Lead delivery of scientific events including advisory boards, symposia, congresses, and internal meetings.

  • Coordinate event logistics, vendor engagement, and project-related documentation.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Postgraduate degree in a scientific or pharmaceutical discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project management and medical events within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Teams, SharePoint) and project management tools such as Smartsheet. Knowledge of Veeva, OneCRM, and Envision digital tools is a plus.

  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills; proactive, flexible, and able to work under ambiguity.

  • Languages: Advanced proficiency in English (spoken and written).
