🏢 About the Role

As an Associate Medical Coder, you will play a crucial role in accurately coding medical records to ensure proper indexing, statistical reporting, and hospital reimbursement. Your expertise will directly support hospital planning, government compliance, and revenue cycle efficiency.

You will be responsible for assigning accurate ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes while maintaining departmental productivity and accuracy standards.


🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • 📋 Code inpatient and outpatient medical records daily as per departmental schedule

  • ✅ Accurately assign ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes in compliance with departmental coding guidelines

  • 🎯 Maintain 95%+ coding accuracy in selection and sequencing of codes

  • 📂 Identify and abstract records consistently and accurately

  • ⏱️ Demonstrate time management skills — meet deadlines and minimize interruptions

  • 📈 Achieve departmental productivity standards for coding and data entry

  • 🧠 Participate in coding meetings, training sessions, and education conferences to maintain skills

  • 🔄 Show flexibility in working additional or alternate hours when required

  • 🏥 Understand how your role impacts the department’s goals and hospital operations

  • 🤝 Build positive working relationships with departmental and hospital staff

  • 📞 Attend conference calls to provide or discuss coding-related updates


🎓 Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate (any discipline)

  • Experience:

    • Certified fresher or experienced professional in medical coding

    • Experience Range (G23): 0–1 year

  • Certification:

    • Must hold a valid coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA

    • Accepted Certifications: CPC, CCS, CIC, COC (any one)

    • Must provide proof of certification with a valid ID number during interview/offer process
