Job Summary

A leading healthcare organization in Bangalore, Karnataka, is seeking an Associate Medical Coder to accurately code inpatient and outpatient records using ICD-10 and CPT-4 standards. This role is ideal for certified freshers or candidates with up to 1 year of medical coding experience, offering the opportunity to develop coding expertise in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assign ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes for inpatient and outpatient medical records with at least 95% accuracy.

  • Identify and abstract records accurately for hospital statistics and reimbursement purposes.

  • Meet departmental productivity standards and coding deadlines.

  • Participate in coding meetings, education sessions, and conference calls.

  • Maintain compliance with departmental coding guidelines and hospital standards.

  • Build cooperative working relationships with departmental and hospital staff.

  • Demonstrate flexibility in working hours and a commitment to continuous skill improvement.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or Allied fields.

  • Certified through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC accepted).

  • 0 to 1 year of medical coding experience (certified freshers can apply).

  • Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding practices.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain coding accuracy and productivity standards.
