A leading healthcare organization in Bangalore, Karnataka, is seeking an Associate Medical Coder to accurately code inpatient and outpatient records using ICD-10 and CPT-4 standards. This role is ideal for certified freshers or candidates with up to 1 year of medical coding experience, offering the opportunity to develop coding expertise in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assign ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes for inpatient and outpatient medical records with at least 95% accuracy.
Identify and abstract records accurately for hospital statistics and reimbursement purposes.
Meet departmental productivity standards and coding deadlines.
Participate in coding meetings, education sessions, and conference calls.
Maintain compliance with departmental coding guidelines and hospital standards.
Build cooperative working relationships with departmental and hospital staff.
Demonstrate flexibility in working hours and a commitment to continuous skill improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Graduate in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or Allied fields.
Certified through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC accepted).
0 to 1 year of medical coding experience (certified freshers can apply).
Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding practices.
Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain coding accuracy and productivity standards.
