Job Summary

A leading healthcare organization is hiring an Associate Medical Coder in Bangalore. This on-site role is ideal for AAPC/AHIMA certified freshers or coders with 0–1 year (G23) experience who can accurately assign ICD‑10 and CPT‑4 codes to inpatient and outpatient medical records. You will support accurate hospital reimbursement, statistics, and compliance while meeting strict 95%+ coding accuracy and productivity standards.


Responsibilities

  • Accurately assign ICD‑10 and/or CPT‑4 codes to inpatient and outpatient records in line with departmental guidelines.

  • Maintain ≥95% accuracy in code choice and sequencing.

  • Identify, abstract, and index medical records to support hospital, regional, and government planning and reimbursement.

  • Meet departmental productivity and turnaround time targets.

  • Participate in coding meetings, education conferences, and conference calls to sustain coding quality and compliance.

  • Demonstrate strong time management, minimizing non-essential interruptions and meeting deadlines.

  • Collaborate effectively with departmental and hospital teams; maintain professional rapport.

  • Show flexibility in working/extended hours when needed.

  • Understand and communicate how coding activities impact broader departmental and hospital performance.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate (Life Sciences/Healthcare/Allied background preferred).

  • Mandatory active certification from AAPC or AHIMACPC, CCS, CIC, or COC (any one).

  • Certified fresher or 0–1 year (G23) experience in medical coding.

  • Strong command of ICD‑10 & CPT‑4 coding standards and sequencing logic.

  • Ability to consistently hit quality (≥95%) and productivity benchmarks.

  • Excellent attention to detail, documentation abstraction, and time-management skills.

  • Willingness to participate in continuous education to maintain coding accuracy and compliance.
