Associate Medical Coder – Bangalore (0–1 Year Experience)

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India

Job Summary

We are seeking a certified Associate Medical Coder to join our healthcare operations team in Bangalore. This role involves coding inpatient and outpatient medical records, assigning ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes, and ensuring compliance with hospital reimbursement procedures. Certified freshers and candidates with up to 1 year of experience are encouraged to apply.


Key Responsibilities

  • Code inpatient and outpatient records accurately based on daily schedules.

  • Assign ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes with at least 95% accuracy in selection and sequencing.

  • Abstract and validate medical records for reporting and analysis.

  • Meet departmental productivity and coding standards.

  • Participate in coding meetings and training sessions to maintain skill accuracy.

  • Ensure deadlines are met while minimizing non-essential interruptions.

  • Build effective working relationships with hospital staff and departments.

  • Attend conference calls as required to provide coding-related updates.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate in any discipline.

  • Certified medical coder (AAPC or AHIMA) – CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC (any one is mandatory).

  • 0 to 1 year of experience in medical coding (certified freshers eligible).

  • Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding standards.

  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Must provide valid coding certification ID during interviews.
