POSITION SUMMARY

Novo Nordisk is seeking an Associate Global Scientific Advisor to join our Global Medical Affairs team. In this role, you will provide scientific and medical input for a variety of projects focused on communicating scientific data related to Novo Nordisk’s products. This position offers an exciting opportunity for life science graduates with an interest in medical writing to collaborate with global medical leaders and cross-functional teams.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scientific and Medical Input: Provide timely, accurate, and credible scientific and medical input for various projects related to Novo Nordisk’s products.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including colleagues from the US affiliate, global medical affairs, and other functional areas.
  • Engagement with KOLs: Engage in dialogue with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in different settings, focusing on sharing medical and scientific information.
  • Presentation Preparation: Prepare presentations for Novo Nordisk standalone events and international medical congresses.
  • Medical Writing: Edit, rewrite, and prepare manuscripts for publication on clinical studies and scientific reports.
  • Data Compilation: Compile, analyze, and summarize data from various sources as needed.
  • Sales Education Materials: Prepare educational materials and manuals for sales teams, product brochures, and literature for new products.
  • Journal Abstracts: Write and maintain files on informative journal abstracts for current or future needs.
  • Medical Papers: Compose medical papers from outlines provided by doctors for presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:
    • PhD in life sciences or PharmD/M Pharm with 2-3 years of experience in research (post-doc) or medical/scientific writing.
  • Experience:
    • Proven publication record, with scientific articles independently produced, preferably as first author.
    • Ability to work independently and proactively.
    • Experience in cross-cultural collaboration or working in global teams.
  • Skills:
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills with fluency in professional English.
    • Solid problem-solving capabilities and a positive, can-do attitude.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Global Medical Affairs department in Bangalore is an extension of the headquarters in Denmark. This team consists of highly motivated global scientific advisors, project managers, graphic designers, and publication managers, collaborating with medical affairs teams across various regions and affiliates. The department’s core competencies include scientific communication, project management, content development, and publication planning for medical events.
