Job Description Summary

As the Associate Director, Clinical Education at Novartis, you will be the primary clinical representative engaging Health Care Providers (HCPs) to drive disease state awareness, clinical education, and information about Novartis products. This role involves delivering both unbranded and branded information, educating HCPs and their staff on Novartis resources, and ultimately improving patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Engagement:

    • Drive awareness of diseases and therapeutic areas to increase education, treatment compliance, and shared decision-making between HCPs and patients.
    • Deliver in-depth disease education to HCPs and office staff, fostering relationships to drive patient advocacy and ongoing engagement.
  • Resource Provision:

    • Provide HCPs with information on innovative, approved ways to diagnose and treat patients.
    • Implement a well-defined account plan to deliver value for HCPs, staff, and accounts.
  • Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with Territory Account Specialists (TAS), territory colleagues, and HQ to ensure coordinated efforts to meet customer needs.
    • Engage in compliant business meals to facilitate educational or business-related discussions.
  • Digital and Virtual Engagement:

    • Deliver digital pull-through and virtual engagement programs using digital platforms.
    • Lead planning meetings with key partners to solve customer problems collaboratively.
  • Market Analysis:

    • Analyze territory market data and trends to identify educational needs of HCPs.
  • Compliance and Alignment:

    • Ensure adherence to NPC policies, including the Code of Conduct and applicable laws and regulations.

Essential Requirements

  • Certifications:

    • Past or current Physician Assistant (PA) / Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification, or Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) (certification does not need to be active).
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 18-24 months of clinical practice experience with patients.
    • Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with key market partners and communicate clinical/product information.
  • Skills:

    • Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
    • Ability to travel 60-80% across a broad geography, with a valid driver's license.

Desirable Requirements

  • Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical marketplace, governing rules and laws.
    • Understanding of commercial payers, Medicare plans, and state Medicaid.
    • Therapeutic area and launch experience with a background in guiding and influencing others.

Benefits and Rewards

  • Compensation:

    • Pay range: $174,400 - $261,600/year, with possible adjustments based on market factors.
    • Total compensation may include sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, discretionary awards, and various benefits (medical, 401(k), paid time off).
  • Training:

    • Required initial training, including home study, to be completed in eight or fewer hours per day and forty or fewer hours per week.
