Associate Director – Financial Reporting (R2R) | Syngene International

Location: Bangalore
Level: Associate Director (Senior Finance Leadership)
Function: Record-to-Report (R2R), Financial Reporting, Accounting & Compliance


Overall Assessment

This is a senior finance leadership role, significantly above analyst or manager level.

It is designed for professionals with:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA)

  • 10–15+ years experience

  • Listed company reporting exposure

  • IFRS / Ind AS expertise

  • External audit management

  • Team leadership experience

This role has minimal overlap with Life Sciences, Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, or Medical Writing.


Core Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting

Own and oversee:

  • Monthly closing

  • Quarterly reporting

  • Annual reporting

  • SEBI reporting requirements

  • Earnings releases

Key deliverables:

  • Financial statements

  • Board reports

  • Earnings materials

  • Audit schedules


2. Accounting Governance

Ensure compliance with:

  • IFRS

  • Ind AS

  • Companies Act

  • SEBI regulations

  • RBI guidelines

  • GST

  • Income Tax

  • TDS regulations


3. Audit Leadership

Handle:

  • Internal audits

  • IFCR audits

  • Statutory audits

  • Regulatory reviews

Responsibilities include:

  • Auditor interactions

  • Issue resolution

  • CAPA tracking

  • Compliance closure


4. Technical Accounting

Lead accounting interpretation for:

  • New accounting standards

  • Complex transactions

  • Revenue recognition

  • Related-party transactions

  • International accounting issues

Prepare:

  • Accounting memos

  • Technical position papers

  • Management recommendations


5. Process Improvement

Drive:

  • R2R transformation

  • Financial close optimization

  • Automation initiatives

  • SAP process improvements


6. Team Management

Lead reporting teams and:

  • Track performance

  • Manage engagement

  • Reduce attrition

  • Develop talent
