Job Summary:

Novartis is hiring an experienced Associate Director – Gen AI Business Analyst (Life Sciences) to lead enterprise-wide Generative AI initiatives across the pharmaceutical value chain—from drug discovery to commercialization. The role requires deep expertise in life sciences and Generative AI technologies, aligning advanced AI-driven solutions with critical business needs to drive innovation and competitive advantage.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic AI leader in life sciences, driving AI applications in drug discovery, clinical trials, regulatory affairs, and pharmacovigilance.

  • Lead enterprise-level business analysis for AI adoption, aligning solutions with long-term organizational goals.

  • Author and approve business cases, feasibility studies, and ROI analyses for AI transformation projects.

  • Engage directly with C-suite, technical teams, and industry forums to promote AI-driven innovation.

  • Manage and mentor a team of Senior Business Analysts on advanced AI-driven analysis and solution development.

  • Oversee the development and deployment of scalable, reliable Generative AI solutions for life sciences.

  • Establish regulatory and ethical governance frameworks ensuring compliance with USFDA, EU, and PMDA guidelines.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science, Data Science; PhD or MBA preferred.

  • 10–12 years in life sciences consulting/business analysis; 5+ years in AI technology leadership.

  • Strong expertise in Generative AI, machine learning, Python, TensorFlow, Power BI.

  • Proven project management skills (Agile, SAFe, PMI methodologies).

  • Ability to influence C-level stakeholders and manage cross-functional teams.

  • Deep knowledge of pharma regulatory standards and global compliance guidelines.
