Syneos Health is seeking an experienced Associate Director – Demand Forecasting to lead strategic demand planning initiatives for European Union (EU) biopharmaceutical client portfolios. This senior leadership role is responsible for delivering accurate, data-driven, and actionable demand forecasts that directly support commercial strategy, supply chain planning, and operational decision-making.
As the demand forecasting lead for assigned client programs, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders across commercial, market access, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to guide business-critical decisions, optimize inventory, and maximize product performance across EU markets.
Establish and continuously improve demand forecasting processes, governance, and tools at the client program level
Lead the development and management of short-, mid-, and long-range demand forecasts at SKU, market, and country levels
Provide clear, data-backed reporting to senior leadership and client stakeholders on market trends, competitive dynamics, and gross-to-net performance impacts
Design, build, and maintain robust, evidence-based forecasting models aligned with client demand planning and supply chain methodologies
Integrate multiple data sources, including epidemiology, historical sales, market research, promotional activity, and lifecycle assumptions
Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analyses to evaluate the impact of market changes, competitive events, and strategic decisions
Serve as the primary demand forecasting point of contact for client partners, ensuring alignment and consensus on forecast assumptions and outputs
Clearly communicate forecast drivers, risks, and insights to stakeholders at all organizational levels, including senior leadership
Partner with internal Syneos Health teams to align forecasts with commercial execution, financial planning, and supply chain requirements
Act as the subject matter expert for demand forecasting on customer-facing programs
Lead, mentor, and develop demand forecasting analysts and managers, as required
Manage forecasting resources and capacity to ensure delivery against business objectives
Deep expertise in demand forecasting methodologies, including patient-based forecasting and statistical modeling
Advanced modeling and analytical skills using Microsoft Excel
Strong quantitative, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and external stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field (required)
MBA or other advanced degree (preferred)
Minimum 10 years of experience in demand forecasting, analytics, or commercial planning within the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry
At least 5 years of leadership experience at the Manager level or above, with responsibility for team leadership or program ownership
Proven experience supporting EU or global pharmaceutical markets is strongly preferred
