Associate Director, Counseling Center

📍 Location: University of Cincinnati | 💰 $85,000 - $100,000 (DOE) | 🏛 Student Affairs - Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS)

About the Role:

The Associate Director will oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure the clinical and administrative success of UC's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). This position supports psychology training programs, mental health services, and student well-being initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

✔️ Clinical Leadership & Operations: Manage daily administration, client assignments, and clinical policies
✔️ Staff Supervision: Create job descriptions, make hiring decisions, and conduct performance reviews
✔️ Program Development: Oversee counseling, crisis intervention, AOD programs, and case management teams
✔️ Equity & Inclusion: Support underserved populations and implement culturally informed practices
✔️ Training & Development: Provide clinical supervision for graduate trainees & APA internship support
✔️ Budget & Compliance: Prepare and manage departmental budgets, expenditures, and policies

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or Marriage & Family Therapy
Licensed (or eligible) in Ohio as a social worker, therapist, or counselor (within 6 months of hire)
5+ years of post-degree clinical experience, including 2+ years in college counseling and 2+ years in a supervisory/administrative role

Preferred:
🔹 Doctorate (Ph.D./Psy.D./Ed.D.) in Counseling/Clinical Psychology (APA accredited)
🔹 Experience in higher education counseling centers
🔹 Knowledge of electronic health records & best clinical practices
