Associate Director, Communications – Corporate & Internal Communications Strategy

Job Overview
Apotex is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Communications to drive strategic internal and corporate communications initiatives across the organization. This role is pivotal in translating business strategy, culture, and leadership vision into clear, engaging, and impactful communication for diverse internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate will partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to strengthen organizational culture, enhance employee engagement, and improve operational effectiveness through high-quality communications.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications Leadership

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies aligned with organizational goals and priorities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and stakeholders on communication planning and execution

  • Ensure messaging consistency, clarity, and alignment with corporate brand and values

Internal Communications & Employee Engagement

  • Lead internal communications for key stakeholder groups across the organization

  • Deliver timely, engaging, and impactful communication to drive awareness of business strategies and initiatives

  • Utilize multiple communication channels and platforms to maximize reach and engagement

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with executive leadership, Global Communications teams, and business units to support enterprise-wide initiatives

  • Provide communications support for change management, transformation programs, and organizational updates

  • Collaborate effectively in a matrixed, global environment

Content Development & Messaging

  • Translate complex and technical information into clear, concise, and compelling messaging

  • Ensure high-quality written communications including announcements, presentations, and executive messaging

  • Maintain a consistent corporate voice and tone across all communications

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current with industry trends in corporate communications, branding, and change management

  • Recommend and implement innovative communication strategies and tools

  • Contribute to the evolution of communication practices and processes within the organization

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies, compliance programs, and communication standards

  • Support ethical, transparent, and compliant communication practices across the organization

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

  • Degree or diploma in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, or Communications Management preferred

  • Strong understanding of corporate communications, branding, and change management principles

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills

  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and manage senior-level relationships

Experience Required

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, or related field

  • Experience working in large, matrixed, global organizations

  • Demonstrated experience supporting executive leadership and enterprise-level initiatives

  • Global communications experience is highly preferred
