About the Role

We are seeking a Clinical Informaticist Coder on a contract basis to support our risk adjustment solutions. Reporting to the Senior Director, Health Outcomes, this role is integral to enhancing clinical documentation and coding processes.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product and customer success teams to drive the adoption of clinical decision support (CDS) definitions for risk adjustment and improve clinical documentation.
  • Validate coding and clinical documentation guidelines for our risk adjustment solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage code groups or value sets for hierarchical condition category (HCC) definitions.

Requirements

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminologies, including RxNorm, LOINC, SNOMED, CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS.
  • Strong understanding of body systems, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
  • In-depth experience with clinical workflows, EHR systems, and clinical documentation practices.
  • Proficiency in using clinical data and analytics to develop innovative healthcare solutions.
  • Highly self-motivated with excellent time management skills and the ability to balance priorities effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to present clear, concise results.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Administration with at least 2 years of medical coding experience, or 4 years as a medical coder.
  • Coding experience with an HCC Model is strongly preferred.
  • Professional credentials such as RHIT, RHIA, or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) are required (primary care coding experience is preferred).
  • Current coding credentials must be maintained.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in risk adjustment coding may be considered in lieu of certification.
