Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Associate Chemist to join Protomer’s expanding research team. This role is ideal for freshers with a strong academic foundation in chemistry, biochemistry, or related disciplines. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in synthesis, bioconjugation, purification, and characterization of therapeutic compounds, contributing directly to the development of peptide therapeutics, including glucose sensing insulins (GSIs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with senior scientists to achieve research milestones and team objectives.

  • Purify and characterize compounds using HPLC, FPLC, and standard biochemical techniques.

  • Assist in implementing innovative laboratory technologies and assays relevant to peptide therapeutics.

  • Analyze experimental data, troubleshoot experiments, and maintain accurate electronic lab records.

  • Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams to support early-stage drug discovery projects.

  • Adhere to all Lilly Research Policies and laboratory safety standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or related fields.

  • Working knowledge of standard laboratory techniques in chemistry and biochemistry.

  • Fresher candidates with strong academic performance and research interest are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to learn quickly.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, fast-paced research team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Academic or industry research experience is advantageous but not required.

  • Familiarity with standard biochemical and analytical lab techniques.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for team discussions.

  • Ability to build productive relationships with peers and senior scientists.
