Role Overview:
We are seeking an Associate Chemist / Biochemist to join Protomer’s expanding research team. This role provides an opportunity for freshers with a strong academic background to gain hands-on experience in synthesis, bioconjugation, purification, and characterization of therapeutic compounds. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior scientists in a collaborative, fast-paced laboratory environment, contributing to the development of next-generation peptide therapeutics, including glucose sensing insulins (GSIs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior scientists to achieve research milestones and team objectives.

  • Purify and characterize compounds using HPLC, FPLC, and various biochemical techniques.

  • Implement and maintain assays and laboratory technologies critical to peptide therapeutics research.

  • Analyze experimental data, troubleshoot results, and ensure accuracy in laboratory documentation.

  • Maintain electronic lab notes and prepare data reports for team meetings.

  • Contribute actively to cross-functional projects, supporting collaborative drug discovery efforts.

  • Adhere to Lilly Research Policies and laboratory safety standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or related fields.

  • Strong understanding of basic biochemistry and chemistry techniques.

  • Fresher candidates with academic or limited industry research exposure are encouraged to apply.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team-oriented lab environment.

  • Strong attention to detail, task-oriented mindset, and willingness to learn quickly.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with standard biochemistry lab techniques.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for team discussions.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers, senior scientists, and management.
