Job Title: Cleaning and Sanitization Supervisor

Abbott is seeking a Cleaning and Sanitization Supervisor to lead and maintain the highest standards of hygiene, GMP compliance, and sanitization practices at the manufacturing site. This role involves ensuring Abbott’s standards are met, continuous improvements are implemented, and all processes are cost-effective.


Primary Function/Goals/Objectives

  • Establish and oversee the Cleaning and Sanitization Program for manufacturing areas.
  • Plan, execute, and supervise cleaning and sanitization activities while adhering to Abbott’s stringent standards and local regulations.
  • Promote continuous improvement in cleaning practices to ensure cost efficiency and enhanced GMP and hygiene compliance.

Major Responsibilities

  1. Compliance and Standards

    • Maintain GMP and hygiene compliance in manufacturing areas.
    • Ensure adherence to Abbott’s cleaning and sanitization policies and local regulations.
  2. Training and Awareness

    • Enhance hygiene awareness among staff and housekeeping teams.
    • Provide training to production operators and contractors on hygiene requirements.
  3. Program Management

    • Establish and manage the site sanitization program using a risk-based approach.
    • Document all cleaning and sanitization activities as per Abbott policy requirements.
  4. Continuous Improvement

    • Drive process improvements in cleaning and sanitization practices for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
    • Execute corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for identified issues.
  5. Resource Management

    • Ensure availability of cleaning chemicals, validation requirements, tools, and equipment.
    • Monitor and standardize cleaning practices across the site.
  6. Team Leadership

    • Supervise housekeeping contractors and staff to ensure effective execution.
    • Foster good human relations within the department and across the plant.
  7. Incident and Safety Management

    • Report safety, quality, and food safety incidents promptly.
    • Ensure proper storage and handling of cleaning chemicals and maintain a safe working environment.
  8. Root Cause Analysis

    • Analyze failures and execute corrective/preventive actions for cleaning-related issues.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Technology, Food Science, or Microbiology with 2-5 years of experience.
  • Diploma holders with relevant equivalent experience may also apply.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong people management skills and the ability to organize and motivate teams.
  • Knowledge of quality and food safety systems.
  • Proficiency in Gujarati is an advantage.
  • Sound analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ensure 100% compliance with SOPs related to cleaning and sanitization.
  • Supervise the execution of cleaning and sanitization processes to meet Abbott’s standards.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective, high-quality cleaning practices across the manufacturing site.
