Role Overview

The Assistant Manager (Project Manager) will manage assigned projects following "The Syngene Way of Execution," ensuring high performance, revenue growth, profitability, and client satisfaction. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, adhering to safety standards, and aligning with Syngene's values of Integrity, Excellence, and Professionalism.


Key Responsibilities

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to safe practices and procedures for self and team members.
  • Contribute to developing procedures and systems that ensure compliance with integrity and quality standards.
  • Ensure completion of all assigned training related to data integrity, health, and safety measures.
  • Hold self and team members accountable for achieving safety goals and promptly report incidents or near-misses.

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Understand and fulfill contract obligations, ensuring the delivery of project objectives (quality, timeliness, and budget compliance).
  • Initiate projects by creating charters, securing approvals, and completing system requirements.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and risk management strategies.
  • Lead effective review meetings, capture decisions and action items, and ensure timely follow-up on tasks.
  • Maintain appropriate governance and escalation mechanisms for issue resolution.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Identify and engage key stakeholders, building strong relationships and ensuring alignment to project goals.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing dashboards and status updates.
  • Collect and report customer feedback, fostering strong relationships and managing escalations as required.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze project data to identify patterns and enable continuous improvement.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and foster a culture of shared vision and common goals.
  • Ensure systematic closure of project tasks and drive organizational learning.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a discipline relevant to the life sciences industry (preferably with qualifications in management).
    • A globally recognized project management certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience:

    • 12–15 years of overall experience, with at least five years in a relevant role in reputed CRO/CDMO/Product/Services/Consulting companies.
    • At least three years as a Project Manager, handling portfolios exceeding USD 1 million in a multicultural setting.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, conflict resolution capabilities, and ability to work in fast-paced environments.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (AI/ML exposure preferred) and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
