Job Title: Medical Affairs - Key Opinion Leader (KOL) Engagement

About the Role:

In this role, you will provide scientific expertise, build knowledge-driven relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and contribute to advancing medical practice and research. You will support Pfizer's scientific image within the community, contributing to both medical and business objectives. Your work will primarily focus on fostering strategic partnerships and advancing the understanding of diseases, treatment patterns, and clinical practices relevant to Pfizer's business.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic/Policy:

  • Tactical and Strategic Inputs: Collaborate with the mentor/line manager to provide inputs and business/technical expertise to support the ethical promotion of assigned products.

  • Ensure Ethical Practices: Ensure that all policies and endeavors align with ethical standards, particularly in medical communications, education, and research.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • KOL / Key Organization Engagement:

    • Collaborate with medical affairs colleagues to execute medical activities relevant to brand strategies in specific products and therapy areas.

    • Customize presentations for regional or KOL requests, ensuring approval from the Medical Advisor before distribution.

    • Establish relationships with KOLs and key organizations, supporting their clinical and research activities, and offering appropriate educational programs, clinical research, and grants.

    • Facilitate promotional and educational interactions with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), including customer launch meetings, advisory boards, scientific symposia, and institutional presentations.

  • Clinical Research:

    • Support the identification of new investigators and institutions for clinical research to expand the research base.

    • Provide medical support for local clinical studies, including site visits and reviewing study data.

    • Assist in the preparation of final study reports for locally sponsored studies and contribute to writing manuscripts for publication.

  • Medical Initiatives:

    • Participate in and provide medical input for KOL meetings, advisory boards, and Customer Launch Meetings (CLMs).

    • Facilitate round-table discussions, CMEs, and other educational activities for assigned therapy areas/products.

    • Serve as a speaker or moderator at CMEs as needed, in coordination with medical advisors.

  • Medical Information:

    • Provide timely, accurate, and balanced medical information to both internal teams (e.g., sales staff) and external customers (e.g., HCPs), adhering to relevant SOPs and policies.


Qualifications:

Must-Have:

  • Experience: Proven experience in Medical Affairs, Scientific Affairs, or similar roles in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Scientific Expertise: Strong understanding of medical research, clinical practices, and disease states relevant to the assigned therapy area.

  • Relationship Management: Experience building and maintaining relationships with KOLs, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with internal and external audiences.

  • Medical Education: Ability to develop educational content and lead scientific presentations and discussions.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Advanced Degree: Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant scientific field.

  • Therapeutic Area Knowledge: Familiarity with the therapeutic areas and products relevant to Pfizer's portfolio.
