Job Description: Area Sales Manager - Abbott

Abbott is a global healthcare leader, dedicated to improving lives through innovative healthcare solutions. We are looking for a dynamic Area Sales Manager to lead and support our sales team, ensuring strong execution of strategies and fostering relationships with key stakeholders.


Core Responsibilities

  1. Planning and Execution

    • Analyze market data and research to develop strategic working plans for the assigned area.
    • Drive execution of organizational policies and strategies with precision.
  2. Team Leadership and Development

    • Coach, mentor, and motivate the team to achieve performance targets.
    • Foster a performance-driven culture within the team.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement

    • Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders: doctors, stockists, retailers, chemists, and institutional pharmacies.
    • Collaborate internally with Territory Business Managers (TBMs) and other organizational teams.
  4. Monitoring and Reporting

    • Utilize strong analytical and monitoring skills to track area performance.
    • Follow up on targets and ensure alignment with business goals.
  5. Communication and Simplification

    • Communicate strategies and updates effectively to the team, ensuring clarity and alignment.
  6. Administrative Skills

    • Proficient in basic computer applications, including Excel, Word, and email communication.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:

    • B.Sc. or B.Pharma is mandatory.
    • Graduates/Postgraduates from other disciplines with a strong educational background and proven performance may also apply.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2+ years of experience as a First Line Manager in the same therapy area.
  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical, planning, and execution capabilities.
    • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office tools for reporting and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior or current experience in the same therapy area.
  • Background with MNCs or leading Indian pharmaceutical companies is advantageous.
  • Candidates aged 35 years or below are preferred.
