About the Biometrics Team
The Biometrics team at Fortrea is responsible for statistical analysis and programming activities that support clinical trials and drug development programs. The team includes more than 700 statistical programmers with extensive expertise in drug, biologics, and medical device development.

With over three decades of experience delivering statistical services, Fortrea’s biometrics team utilizes a globally harmonized SAS environment and advanced analytics processes to support continuous operations and efficient resource management. The team provides customized global solutions that enhance clinical trial efficiency through high-quality technical expertise and performance-driven processes.

Role Overview
The Apprentice – Statistical Programming supports entry-level statistical programming and clinical data analysis tasks within the biometrics team. This role provides hands-on exposure to clinical trial data analysis, programming techniques, and statistical reporting processes used in pharmaceutical research and regulatory submissions.

The apprenticeship program helps candidates develop a strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle, clinical trial processes, and regulatory documentation requirements, while building programming and data analysis skills relevant to the clinical research industry.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Data Analysis and Programming

  • Support the analysis and programming of clinical trial data under supervision.

  • Assist in developing statistical programs used for clinical data analysis and reporting.

  • Contribute to the preparation of outputs related to clinical trial results.

Clinical Research and Drug Development Understanding

  • Gain knowledge of the drug development lifecycle and modern drug design processes.

  • Develop an understanding of key clinical trial documents including clinical trial protocols, informed consent forms, and case report forms.

Regulatory and Clinical Data Reporting

  • Support preparation and organization of clinical data used for regulatory submissions such as Investigational New Drug (IND) applications and New Drug Applications (NDA).

  • Assist in organizing and analyzing data related to product efficacy and safety.

Data Management and Documentation

  • Support the review, organization, and validation of clinical trial datasets.

  • Assist in preparing statistical outputs and reports for internal teams and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration and Learning

  • Work closely with statistical programmers, data analysts, and clinical research professionals.

  • Participate in training programs and mentorship sessions to develop technical and industry knowledge.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech) in Computer Science or Information Technology.

  • Master of Computer Applications (MCA).

  • Master’s degree in Statistics (M.Sc. Statistics) or a related quantitative discipline.

Experience Requirements

  • Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of experience in programming, statistics, or data analysis roles.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Interest in clinical research, data science, and statistical programming.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of SQL and UNIX operating environments.

  • Strong programming fundamentals.

  • Familiarity with SAS, R, or Python programming languages is an advantage.

  • Understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis techniques.

Work Environment
This is an office-based role located in Bangalore and requires working five days per week as per team and project requirements.
