Job Summary
UCLA Health is hiring a skilled Anesthesia Technician to join the Operating Room team at the Jules Stein Eye Institute. In this high-impact role, you will assist anesthesiologists in the setup and management of critical equipment used for anesthesia delivery and patient monitoring. The position plays a pivotal part in surgical preparation, safety, and clinical support for complex ophthalmologic procedures. Key Responsibilities
Prepare equipment and assist anesthesiologists with administration setups
Set up invasive lines for patient monitoring per procedural protocols
Perform cell-saving procedures in the OR
Assist in setting up and operating laser and video systems
Coordinate OR equipment and maintain readiness for surgical procedures
Collaborate with anesthesiologists and nurses on equipment allocation
Maintain OR supplies and ensure cleanliness of the clinical environment
Make independent, informed decisions when necessary during prep
Required Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience in an anesthesia tech or operating room support role
Strong knowledge of invasive monitoring setup and OR protocols
Familiarity with cell-saving systems and laser/video technology
Ability to follow physician preferences and institutional protocols
High level of clinical awareness and technical accuracy
Excellent teamwork, communication, and organization skills
Certification in Anesthesia Technology (preferred but not mandatory)
