Position Overview

Red Nucleus is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Writer to join the Medical Communications team. In this role, you will research, develop, and edit scientific content across multiple formats, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks, and other publication-related materials. You will contribute to high-visibility client projects across therapeutic areas and work with a team that supports your growth, autonomy, and career advancement.

This fully remote opportunity is available to candidates residing in the United States or Canada.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Content Development

  • Research, write, and edit scientific manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentation materials.

  • Evaluate scientific data for accuracy, clarity, and relevance across various biological and clinical domains.

  • Translate complex study data into well-structured, evidence-based deliverables.

  • Apply AMA style guidelines and good publication practices in all deliverables.

  • Ensure accurate version control and file management following internal standards.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner closely with internal teams, including medical writers, editors, project managers, and medical directors.

  • Communicate effectively to ensure content meets scientific, editorial, and timeline requirements.

  • Contribute constructively during reviews, discussions, and planning sessions.

  • Seek supervisor input when appropriate and provide scientific insight when collaborating with peers.

Project Excellence

  • Deliver high-quality content within established timelines and project workflows.

  • Manage multiple deliverables while maintaining strong attention to detail.

  • Demonstrate familiarity with preclinical and clinical drug development processes.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of publication ethics and industry guidelines.


Experience Required

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical writing, specifically developing peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, posters, and slide decks.

  • Proven experience independently drafting and editing scientific manuscripts and publication materials.

  • Experience providing critical review and constructive feedback on colleagues’ work.

  • Familiarity with AMA style and good publication practices.

  • Experience working in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment—virtual or onsite.


Qualifications

  • MD, PhD in life sciences, or PharmD required.

  • Strong ability to interpret scientific literature and clinical data.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Effective time-management and organizational skills.

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and highly collaborative team player.
