Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Medical Copy Writer with expertise in creating high-quality, engaging, and scientifically accurate promotional medical content for pharmaceutical marketing. The role requires crafting content for healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients across digital, print, social media, email, and sales enablement materials. The ideal candidate blends scientific accuracy with creative storytelling while ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with brand strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development & Strategy

  • Develop compelling, evidence-based promotional content for HCPs and patients across multiple channels, including websites, eDetailers, webinars, social media, emails, brochures, and videos.

  • Translate complex clinical and scientific data into clear, persuasive messaging tailored for different audiences.

  • Align content with brand strategy, medical positioning, and omnichannel marketing objectives.

Omnichannel & Digital Marketing Support

  • Create SEO-optimized medical content for websites, blogs, portals, and other digital platforms.

  • Collaborate with marketing, design, and creative teams to deliver interactive content for omnichannel campaigns, including AI-driven chatbots, virtual events, and mobile applications.

  • Support personalized content journeys through audience segmentation insights.

Compliance & Scientific Integrity

  • Ensure all content meets regulatory and compliance standards (FDA, EMA, PhRMA).

  • Collaborate with Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) teams for content approvals.

  • Maintain accuracy in citing clinical guidelines and scientific literature.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Medical Affairs, Brand, and Sales teams to align content with commercial and scientific objectives.

  • Work with designers, UX specialists, and digital marketers to enhance content delivery and engagement.

Content Performance & Optimization

  • Monitor content engagement metrics and optimize strategies based on insights.

  • Update materials regularly based on new scientific data, market trends, and audience feedback.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or Journalism with medical writing focus.

  • Advanced degrees (PhD, PharmD, MD) are advantageous.

Experience:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in medical content writing for pharmaceutical marketing, healthcare communications, or healthcare advertising agencies.

  • Demonstrated expertise in HCP- and patient-focused content for omnichannel campaigns.

  • Knowledge of therapeutic areas such as cardiology, oncology, endocrinology, or rare diseases is preferred.

  • Exposure to global markets (US/EU) and understanding of local approval and regulatory processes is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of clinical research, scientific writing, and pharma promotional guidelines.

  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal).

  • Ability to simplify complex medical and scientific concepts for diverse audiences.

  • Familiarity with SEO, UX writing, digital marketing, and email automation.

  • Experience with CMS, CRM (Veeva, Salesforce), and analytics tools.

  • Excellent project management, cross-functional collaboration, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
