Overview

Novartis is seeking a Senior Associate in Scientific Writing to develop, update, and maintain scientifically and medically accurate content across a wide range of commercial and medico-marketing assets. This role supports global Novartis brands and requires strict adherence to Medical-Legal-Regulatory (MLR) guidelines, consistency with product labeling, and alignment with the latest safety and prescribing information.

The position operates within Studio Operations and demands strong cross-functional collaboration with teams based in India, the United States, Ireland, and Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop scientifically accurate and compliant promotional materials, including iCVAs, brochures, digital campaigns, email communication, banners, and social media content.

  • Ensure all messaging aligns with brand strategy and approved product positioning.

  • Support omnichannel content planning by transforming scientific information into modular content suitable for multiple platforms and target audiences.

  • Monitor product label updates and revise promotional materials in accordance with the latest ISI, PI, and approved reference documents.

  • Collaborate closely with editorial, creative, and regulatory teams to ensure alignment with updated product labels.

  • Mentor and guide junior writers on commercial content development, compliance, and label integration.

  • Maintain and update label integration checklists to ensure consistency and quality across all promotional materials.

  • Coordinate with scientific writing, creative, and digital teams to ensure efficient and high-quality content development workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related discipline.

  • Experience Required: 3 to 5 years in scientific writing, with strong exposure to promotional scientific communications, label updates, and content planning.

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, clinical data interpretation, and compliance standards.

  • Familiarity with promotional content review systems and regulatory codes.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.

  • Ability to work within a matrixed, cross-functional, and metric-driven environment.

  • Experience in global content localization and adaptation.

  • Understanding of omnichannel marketing strategies.
