Role: Scientist I – Bioinformatics

Eurofins Genomics India is seeking a skilled and motivated Scientist I – Bioinformatics to support next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, workflow development, and genomic data interpretation. This role requires strong analytical abilities, programming skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality insights for genomics research and customer projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform NGS data analysis across multiple applications including WGS, RNA-Seq, small RNA, metagenomics (16S, ITS, whole metagenome), QTL-seq, and Exome sequencing.

  • Develop, optimize, and automate NGS analysis workflows and pipelines.

  • Implement robust data processing systems using scripting and programming tools.

  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and interdepartmental coordination to ensure timely completion.

  • Support development of new bioinformatics solutions to enhance data interpretation and genomic reporting.


Qualifications

  • MSc, M.Tech, or PhD in Bioinformatics or a closely related discipline.


Experience Requirements

  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in NGS data analysis and pipeline development (or as required by employer).

  • Proven experience in analyzing genome, transcriptome, metagenome, and related omics datasets.

  • Strong programming proficiency in Python, PHP, jQuery, and MySQL.

  • Experience in workflow automation, data processing, and computational analysis environments.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality outputs within timelines.
