Role Overview
We are seeking a Research Scientist – Medicinal Chemistry to join our Hyderabad team. The ideal candidate will contribute to innovative drug discovery programs through compound design, synthesis, and optimization. This role requires strong organic chemistry expertise, practical laboratory skills, and familiarity with modern medicinal chemistry tools and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct literature searches and data mining using platforms such as SciFinder and Reaxys to support drug design and development.
Design, plan, and execute synthesis of novel compounds for preclinical research.
Utilize techniques including C-C coupling reactions, combinatorial chemistry, and purification methods (e.g., Combiflash, Biotage).
Support medicinal chemistry projects through compound optimization, structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies, and reaction development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including pharmacology, DMPK, and analytical groups to ensure integrated project progress.
Maintain accurate experimental records, reports, and documentation in compliance with GLP standards.
Qualifications & Experience Required
M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry (essential).
2–5 years of relevant industry experience in medicinal chemistry, compound synthesis, or drug discovery.
Proficiency in literature search tools such as SciFinder and Reaxys.
Hands-on experience with modern synthetic chemistry techniques and purification platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in experimental execution.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced R&D environment.
