Position Overview

Novartis is seeking an experienced Manager – Scientific Writing to lead the creation, review, and maintenance of scientifically accurate and medically compliant content across commercial and medico-marketing deliverables. This role supports global Novartis brands by ensuring all materials reflect the latest Important Safety Information (ISI), Prescribing Information (PI), and all applicable reference documents.

The position is part of Studio Operations and requires strong collaboration across global Novartis sites in India, the United States, Ireland, and Mexico. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in scientific writing, compliance, promotional content development, and cross-functional project leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review accurate and compliant content for promotional and medico-marketing assets including iCVAs, brochures, newsletters, RTEs, digital campaigns, email communications, websites, and social media materials.

  • Ensure all messaging aligns with brand strategy and approved product positioning.

  • Partner with cross-functional and creative teams to define and execute content strategy across the brand journey and across multiple platforms.

  • Contribute to omnichannel content planning by identifying opportunities to repurpose scientific information into modular formats for diverse audiences.

  • Continuously monitor label changes and ensure timely updates across all promotional materials.

  • Collaborate with editorial, regulatory, medical, and creative teams to maintain alignment with the latest approved product information.

  • Lead, mentor, and guide junior writers on commercial content development, scientific accuracy, compliance, and label integration.

  • Maintain and refine label-update checklists to ensure consistent and high-quality content revisions.

  • Work closely with scientific, digital, and creative teams to support efficient end-to-end content development workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related discipline.

  • Experience Required: Minimum 7 years in scientific writing with expertise in promotional content development, label updates, content strategy, and scientific communication.

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, clinical data interpretation, and promotional compliance standards.

  • Experience with promotional content review systems and regulatory codes.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional, matrixed environment with strong attention to detail and adherence to timelines.

  • Exposure to global content localization and adaptation.

  • Strong understanding of omnichannel marketing approaches.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
