Role Overview

We are seeking a Head of Business Development – Discovery Services to drive global growth, expand client portfolios, and strengthen Eurofins Advinus’ position in the pharma and biotech discovery services market. This senior leadership role requires a combination of strategic thinking, global industry expertise, and hands-on sales execution, with a focus on achieving revenue targets and expanding the company’s global footprint.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across pharma, biotech, and allied industries globally.

  • Analyze market potential and develop strategic sales plans for target accounts, aligning with organizational objectives.

  • Drive business closure and revenue generation targets, ensuring alignment with annual budgets.

  • Lead multi-geography business development initiatives, including EU, USA, and India markets.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global pharma and biotech stakeholders.

  • Oversee budget planning, forecasting, and management for business development activities.

  • Develop and implement annual, quarterly, and monthly marketing and sales strategies.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with internal teams to deliver seamless solutions through the entire sales cycle, from opportunity identification to closure.

  • Mentor and guide junior business development staff to enhance organizational capability and effectiveness.


Qualifications and Experience Required

  • 10+ years of overall experience in Business Development, Marketing, and Business Strategy within pharma, biotech, or life sciences sectors.

  • Proven experience in global business development, preferably working with clients across multiple geographies including Europe, USA, and India.

  • Strong understanding of the drug discovery and preclinical services industry, including regulatory and operational nuances.

  • Established network within global pharma and biotech companies.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and drive revenue growth.

  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and proficiency in budget planning and management.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
