Position Overview

The Associate Scientific Director (Oncology CoE) will contribute to the development of scientifically rigorous and engaging educational materials for professionals across the life sciences industry, including sales representatives, medical science liaisons, clinical teams, and healthcare providers. This remote role supports multiple learning formats such as e-learning modules, print materials, virtual workshops, and live training sessions.

You will work within the Learning & Development division and collaborate closely with Medical Directors, Instructional Designers, Client Service Directors, Project Managers, Graphic Artists, Programmers, Medical Editors, and client teams. The role also includes contributing to sales efforts and supporting client pitches when needed.


Key Responsibilities

1. Content Development (Primary Focus)

  • Consult with clients and subject matter experts to shape scientific training content.

  • Research and interpret complex clinical and scientific information, particularly in oncology.

  • Develop accessible and engaging training materials tailored to diverse target audiences.

  • Incorporate adult learning principles and sound instructional design methodologies.

  • Ensure all content complies with Red Nucleus standards as well as client-specific processes, medical, legal, and regulatory requirements.

2. Client Interaction

  • Attend status calls, review meetings, and cross-functional discussions with client teams in Sales, Marketing, Medical, Legal, and Regulatory.

  • Provide strategic input, clarifications, and scientific insights during client interactions.

  • Support teams by answering questions, proposing solutions, and ensuring alignment with project objectives.

3. Sales Support

  • Contribute to solution design and proposal development.

  • Prepare content outlines, scope estimates, and scientific insights for sales presentations.

  • Participate in live sales presentations, ranging from brief introductions to presenting curriculum-related content.


Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device sales training or scientific communications.

  • Oncology experience is required.

  • Experience in instructional design or teaching is strongly preferred.

  • Experience developing scientific content in multimedia formats.

  • Familiarity with clinical research methodologies.

  • Working knowledge of AMA style guidelines.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science field.

  • Advanced degree (MA, MS, PharmD, PhD, MD) preferred.

  • Ability to interpret and simplify complex scientific concepts for training audiences.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines.

  • Capacity to work both independently and within cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings or events.
