Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla was born to Pandit Jagganath Shukla (1854–1924) and Tulsi Devi (1856–1941) on 2 August 1877, at Sagar in the Central Provinces of British India .

Born into a wealthy Saryupareen Brahmin family, his father and grandfather were rich and scholarly. His father, Pandit Jagganath Shukla, came of a family which had resisted British rulers for three generations and his mother, Tulsi Devi, was industrious and a capable manager. Young Ravishankar's earliest years were passed in a scholarly atmosphere heavily charged with Indian classics, Shri Ramcharit Manas and Gita. He was admitted to Sunderlal Guru's Pathshala in Sagar. It was one of the six Pathshalas established by the British in Central Provinces.

Ravishankar continued his schooling at Rajnandgaon and subsequently at Raipur High School. He then shifted to Jabalpur and joined Robertson College (whose premises then were what is today the Model High School in front of the High Court of Jabalpur) and completed the Intermediate in the year 1895 aged 18 years. The same year he shifted to Nagpur and joined Hislop College  for the graduation course.

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) – an autonomous body established by the University Grants Commission (UGC), accredited the Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University (PRSU), Raipur, Chhattisgarh, for the first cycle by issuing a certificate on March 21, 2003. In pursuance of NAAC’s action plan for performance evaluation, assessment and accreditation and quality up-gradation of HEIs, the PRSU established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. The IQAC of the PRSU started functioning with effect from November 27, 2003. Since then the IQAC has been channelizing the goals of the University incessantly. The IQAC has been making all out efforts to ensure the tempo of quality culture among PRSU’s various constituents. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC has become a part of the institution’s system and has been working towards realisation of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The IQAC has already developed a system and continuously strengthening and improving its function for bringing in conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the PRSU. The IQAC has evolved and developing best practices and benchmarks for various components of the University.

From the third semester, students are eligible for placement and they can go accordingly to their field the placement is mainly on the basis of interview, and then after the percentage of students matters first need qualities of students those who are capable and well. the company is like Jindal steel s and many more companies I don't have proper information about it but I know mainly one and the package is about to start from 6 lacs and above because of a good reputed college name and student.

Placements rules are different for every programmes and department. usually, PRSU doesn't provide placements by itself in my knowledge. For my course and my department, we have to do an internship for completion of our final semester and those are mostly paid ones and following your skills, capabilities and knowledge you get placement offers with different packages. According to the University official site highest paid package in my course was around 1.92 lakh per annum. My plans after getting a degree for opting for further studies in my course.
