The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first Institute of its kind to be set up at in the State of Bihar in the year 2007. It is an autonomous institution of national importance, established under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt. of India under NIPER Act 1998 at Hajipur in Vaishali District of Bihar. It is a centre of excellence for higher education, research and development in pharmaceutical sciences, conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and other related areas.

Every year numerous reputed companies participate in the placement drive of the university. A large number of companies are invited to participate in NIPER Hajipur placement drive. The university makes sure the maximum number of students are placed every year. Furthermore, it also trains students and prepares them for the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Hajipur placement drive. The students of the university are also provided with internship opportunities. Internships help them in gaining professional experience. As per the NIPER Hajipur placement report 2019-20 (NIRF report), 36 students from PG 2 year courses were eligible for placement. Out of 36 students, 9 students got placed and were offered a median salary of Rs. 3,60,000 per annum.
