Kurukshetra University

The Kurukshetra University was established in 1956 as a unitary residential University and its foundation stone was laid by late Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India. Located in the holy city of Kurukshetra, land of the historical battle of 'Mahabharata' and the great message of Bhagwad Gita, its campus is situated on the western bank of Brahm Sarover (the holy tank) and extends over an area of over 400 acres. Starting with only the Department of Sanskrit, it has grown into a multi-faculty University as one of the premier centres for advanced study and research in the region.

KUK has been accredited with an A+ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The university has been ranked 8 among the state universities in Category-I by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). It also ranked 83 under the 'Pharmacy' category by the NIRF Rankings 2022. KUK is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is a member of a huge university network called Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) .

• Sushma Swaraj was an Indian lawyer, politician, and diplomat who famously served as the Minister of External Affairs of India in the first Narendra Modi government (2014–2019). 
• Jagjit Singh was an Indian composer, singer and musician. Dubbed "The Ghazal King" or "King of Ghazals" .
• Meghna Malik is an Indian actress who appears in Hindi television and films .
• Rajendra Gupta is an Indian film, television and theatre actor and director .
• Anil Kumar Gupta is an Indian scholar in the area of grassroots innovations. He is the founder of the Honey Bee Network. 
• Rattan Lal Kataria is an Indian politician from Haryana.
• Aditya Jha is an Indian-Canadian entrepreneur, philanthropist and social activist.
• Chandra Pal is Indian legal education administrator, jurist presently working in Baba Mast Nath University as professor.

Placement - Kurukshetra University

Almost 50% of the students got placements with an average salary package of 1.5 LPA.  Top recruiters are Mankind Pharma, Abbott, Cipla, and Sun Pharma. Most of the students were placed in mankind.  Placements in the college are good for the students of B.Pharma and M.Pharma. One company, i.e., Tirupati Lifecare from Ponta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh, visited the campus for placements. Almost 13 students from B.Pharmacy were offered jobs in different branches of their company.

The placement cell of KUK provides career guidance and job-related information to the students. The cell coordinates with the respective departments and organises campus interviews and placement drives to facilitate the interaction of the students with corporate professionals. KUK placement cell conducts several programmes and activities to foster personality and skill development, entrepreneurship development, motivational talks and other career-related development.
