Jagadguru Sri Dr. Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamjigalavaru, the 23rd pontiff of Sri Suttur Veerasimhasana Math was the architect and founder president of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, which came into being in 1954. With the divine inspiration of Sri Swamiji, the JSS College of Pharmacy was started in the year 1973. JSS College of Pharmacy is a constituent college of JSS AHER, Mysore.
The institution offers B. Pharm (4 years), Pharm. D (6 years), Pharm.D (PB) (3 years), M.Pharm (2 years) in twelve specializations and Ph. D. The college is recognized by Government of Karnataka and approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. It is accredited to National Board of Accreditation (NBA), AICTE, New Delhi.
The institute is presently ranked as the top 8th pharmacy college in the country (by NIRF, MHRD, Govt. of India) and has consistently remained in the top 10 positions in NIRF ranking for the last 7 years (2016-2022).
It has committed itself to become a center for excellence in pharmaceutical education and research and be a leader in the field of pharmaceutical sciences including pharmacy practice with the objective of strengthening the health care of the country.

JSS College of Pharmacy Mysore (JSSCP Mysore) was founded in the year 1980 under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and is part of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, which runs a variety of educational institutions located in Mysore, Karnataka. It is affiliated both MHRD and NAAC at A Grade on aims to provide best-supporting staff with excellent infrastructure. The institute counts one of the best pharmacy institutes in India.

Aspirants must be 10+2 passed with at least 50% marks from a recognized school with subjects English, Physics, Math, and Chemistry /Biotechnology /Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.The Aspirant Must pass B Pharm the or any equivalent degree from a recognized university with 55% Marks aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PH candidates).
Placements-JSS College of Pharmacy
The college recorded a 100% placement rate with a total of 119 students placed during the academic year 2020-21. Some students were placed before the viva and some were placed after the viva. Over 20 companies visited the JSS College of Pharmacy campus during their 2021 placements. All the departments of the institute recorded a more than 90% placement rate. A large share of students received job roles in the Manufacturing Industry, followed by Hospital/ Clinical Pharmacy Area sectors. 5% of students also opted for further education.
